20250116 i worked in a retail store, and then took part time at another retail store. I preferred the second one and told my coworkers. We went to lunch together, which included Mango and Papaya and their eldest son who was three. Papaya and I filled on desserts.

i went on a field trip in a packed coach bus in university, to a local museum. There were floating, mulocoloured, huge fish swimming in the air above our heads. We spent the day there, and left just as it became 4pm. Most of the students have left on their own, and on the bus home, it was just a handful of us left and the female professor.

She asked the driver to stop somewhere in the middle of a busy town. I asked, “were thise floating fish real or...” but the bus was still dead silent and I felt embarrassed, realizing what I've just said.
I was the last to jump off the bus, but I grabbed an umbrella because it was raining. I took a pvc, clear one with many coloured polkadots. We crossed the street in the pouring rain and stopped at an outdoor market, just outside another art museum.

20241124 I left my hotel in a suburb of the greater toronto area and took the subway all the way to the heart of toronto (there isn't one built on this period of time). I met shortbread there and some friends, and we stopped at a Chinese store. It was late in the day and the stores were closing. I threw a bunch of things (i couldn't get where i lived) into a cart and took it to a cashier whose register was outside the store while everyone waited at the sidewalk. He took a long time ringing up my items. When he was done, i was alone with my bags and everyone couldn't wait longer. I took the subway alone back to my hotel room.

i was a landscape labourer again with Cookie on a warm spring day. We were cutting bundles of chives, digging holes in the ground in rows, and planting them. Instead of the chives, i was planting magazine paper strips. I thought the chives were grass.

20240430

I remember pieces from my dreams.
Cookie had to help set up for a formal function in a mall, so I went for a walk inside a department store. I saw a mustard-coloured hoodie and really wanted to buy it. After taking it to the cashier, someone from my country and the formal function commented on my purchase as I was leaving the store. I stipped by a bench to put the hoodie away and saw I spent $69 dollars just for the hoodie. Thr fabric was thin and I decided it wasn't worth the purchase. Cookie found me on the bench and I showed him the hoodie, and that I'd like to return it. He walked with me to the entrance, where an asian man in a grey suit had a point-of-sales machine. I told him my intention, and as he upsettingly looked at me, he looked over the hoodie and commented on why would I return it. I felt ashamed. He made me feel ashamed.

On a snowy, winter day, I walked to my old workplace where I was a light packager. In my hand was an application form, filled and signed. I carefully crossed a bridge and into the building. The sun hadn't risen yet.
Inside, I found my old supervisor, surrounded by some old and new faces. I handed the form to her, but she smiled and said I don't need one and she'll take care of it. I went into the warehouse hall and took a seat across from two younger boys - one fashioned in emo attire. Then I began to doodle on the back of my paper.

20231018 I was house sitting a large house with white walls and furniture and wooden accents and trim. I don't remember how he found me, but one of Cookie's friends, J (he met through the MOBA, League of Legends) knocked on the door. We were shocked that coincidentally we met. He was tall, with short, dark blond, wavy hair. He was here from the United States because he just started university in Kingston. It was autumn and a little cold outside.

I can't remember the contents of this dream, but he soon left. I went to use the powder room and noticed J forgot one of his bags. As soon as the home's owner returned, I decided to drive the bag over to the university.

2023023

I worked at a kiosk in a mall selling cigarettes during the Christmas season. There was a variety of flavours and countries, and sizes. Kanye West worked beside me as the stand's security, but he spent most of his time reading the worker's contract. I had trouble with a customer that was about to steal, but Kanye grabbed his wrist and nonchalantly told him to leave. Our manager came at the end of the day to help me close shop. He told Kanye he got a complaint for telling a loud customer to “shut up” while he used a light blue highlighter on his contract. He also gave me one to read and sign. It was a short contract with very few conditions, and some strange ones as well. Having to submit a 5” x 7” portrait photo of myself was one of the rules I can remember.

20221128

I dreamt I returned to working for Sobeys, but at a larger store. I made a friend who looked like Red Prince, but younger, and we worked in the same department that wasn't the front end.

It was the Christmas season, and as the day was ending, I couldn't find him.

I met a girl who was tall and strawberry blond. I tried to use a time clock machine with voice commands, to clock out, but it just kept reciting my work history. When it finally stopped, I gave up as the girl told me it was time to go.

I followed her through the employee hall as everyone went home for the day. I watched a big, blond bully push another employee around, and when I went to try and stop him, the girl tried to stop me. She was shoved aside when the bully pushed the employee again. So I left them alone.

I followed the girl down, then upstairs and through a few winding hallways to a little banquet room. She led me to our table, and I stopped and noticed who was seated at our table: she, the friend that looked like Red Prince, Red Prince himself, Grannysmith and two others I didn't recognize. As I approached my seat by Grannysmith, the girl asked if I wanted some of her shrimp meal. I looked at my meal, which had the same food plated, so I shook my head.

When I sat down, Red Prince asked me for the resume I was holding, so I gave it wordlessly. He had another paper in his handwriting - a letter about how he wasn't paid properly for some extra work we both did. He crossed out and added my name and info on several lines. I saw his resume and asked if he's done any other work since, but he didn't respond. I don't know if he ignored me or couldn't hear me.

20211230 I lived on my own, in a factory, but I also had my own farm. Everyone at this factory wore white jumpsuits. One day at the assembly line, I learn the broccoli I grew was taken by Wafer, who said she'd make it into millions. I was so upset because I don't trust her, and the fact she took what's mine without asking.

I asked someone, “did she sell it per pound or product?”
“Per product.”

At her assembly line, she asked me to wash this: it was thick, wool yarn. I went to the shower station for products and I rinsed the wool, watching some of the colours leave.
I don't remember what I did with the wool, but I was in the common employee room, upset and gloomy. Some cute guy greeted me, as we were beginning to be friends and talk. He noticed I wasn't in a good mood so he gave me a hug. I started bawling, and he hugged me tighter. He asked our boss who sad we can have the rest of the day off.
He took me away to... I can't remember, but he brought me somewhere where no one knew who we were.

20201010

At home, Cookie needed help with work so he brought in two technicians. I don't remember the first one well. The first technician was tall and in his late 20s.

The second tech came in after the first left. He was young, in his high school or middle school years. I could tell he had a major crush on me. Instead of work, we'd play [Pokémon GO] together.

We lived in a large house, like a step down from a mansion. There was a time when Cookie brought out rollerblades and I tried but I could only stand in them.

When work was done and it was time to go to dinner, I was getting ready. I knew younger was going through my laptop and stuff as I showered. I left the door open too. After he saw me, he told me to close my eyes and trust him. He blew out a breath. I wore a long, red dress and hat with gloves.

Friday, January 3, 2020

One evening, I was in Toronto, wandering the PATH below numerous buildings that stretched towards the sky. Checking my wristwatch, it was almost nine, and I decided, since I was in the area, I should gather my courage and visit my old friends and workplace, as they are [in real life] closing their doors very soon. Self-conscious that I haven't showered before visiting, I pressed on, knowing time is limited and I will never see these people, that I loved, ever again.

I stumbled to the front entrance, where two of my old supervisors saw me. They were beautiful, and always have been. Grannysmith's hair had grown incredibly long, and she'd dyed streaks of red into it. The other had become leaner, and she stood taller, her red hair still shiny in the dim light. They came out to greet me in hugs. I've told them I came because I've heard they'd be gone soon.

One of the ladies that, when I worked there, worked mornings in the deli department was now a grocery clerk, closing this night. She was the mother one of a supervisor I use to have. Lifting a box, she asked if I could help, as the other two couldn't leave their post. I agreed, always happy to be of some use. Picking up box, I followed her to the other side of the store. The tiles weren't grey anymore, but cream with the same spotted pattern as on quail eggs. The store's brand colour of a vivid green was now a dark brown. Before entering a doorway to a room in the back, I noticed Honeycrisp in an aisle by bags of rice. I wiggled my fingers in a "hello" and he nodded in response. The walls in this small room were cream and dingy.

When we set the boxes down, I turned around to find Honeycrisp behind me. "Look," he said, lifting his shirt a little around his waist, revealing the skin of his belly.

"I have jellies too!" Without much thought, I pulled up my ugly, white t-shirt in comparison, then cringed, embarrassed at my muffin top.

"No, I meant the scar."

He pointed to a surgical scar about an inch long, a little ways below and left of his belly button. I stared with wide-eyed fascination [I love scars].

Tuesday, December 17, 2019

I visited the store. Many things changed. My vegan supervisor became a police officer and she collected donations at the entrance. I apologized to her, for not saying goodbye when I had quit the store.

In my second dream, I took some friends around Toronto, spending most of my time with Shortbread and her sister. We took the PATH underground, which was, at this time of day, abandoned. It had a different appearance than usual.

We stopped at a chocolate shop. I wanted to treat my taste buds to something, but I couldn't decide. The sales lady asked what did I feel like having, and I said, "salty, but sweet." She gave me a 1" x 2" rectangle that may've been salted caramel, and after entering the cost, the chip'n'pin machine. Not entirely sure what screen I was on, I entered $100.00 when prompted for an amount. The lady replied, "no, no, no," and it ejected five $100 bills. The last bill was for 100 rupees, which I handed to her, as I didn't know what to do with it.

It was time for my friends to leave, so we surfaced the PATH at Dundas Square. Saying goodbyes, I watched my friends gather in a bus driven by an overweight woman.

I applied and got hired back at my old grocery retail job, but instead of a store, we were all inside an old house in the suburbs, and we were more students than clerks and cashiers.

There was a man in the garage. After introductions with him, I asked, "who runs the store now?" Knowing I meant, 'what's the hierarchy of power like?', he told me Shortbread and two others were (managers were just there for show). As I was talking to him, I felt someone's tall shadow creep up on me. Turning around, I was happy to see Honeycrisp. I squashed him in a long hug. Instead of his regular Swiss Army backpack, he had a messenger bag in black; it reminded me of a (fictional) day I rewrote his notes to a legible state.

After the hug, I took his hand and we went into the house, and to a cramped bathroom. I sat on the toilet seat cover and he laid his head on my lap. I folded my torso over and sandwiched him in a hug. We stayed like that for a little while, enjoying each other's... aura? Presence? I missed being around him.

Whether or not this was a school or a store, I kept my eye on my watch until it was time to get started. He got up and left, and I left a couple of minutes after to a classroom we both were required to attend.

Everyone in the class didn't care about rules, or what everyone else was doing. They just needed to show up. The professor put a movie on a screen hung on the wall, but no one paid attention. This was normal and expected. I walked in, past Honeycrisp, pretending I didn't know him. I sat alone in a corner. The prof asked, "what are you going to do, (name)?" in an accusatory tone. I shakily replied I was going to learn today.

Monday, May 27, 2019

I had finished work and GrannySmith, and another girl worked with us. We closed the shop, which was a small bakery, and exited, looking for the fourth employee who worked with us. This girl was Samoan and overweight, but despite her nanny-like clothing, she was absolutely beautiful. I watched her stuff her feet into white high heels many sizes too small - her feet overflowed as if it were a cartoon.

Everything was underground; we never saw sky. We all entered the subway which had huge, metre-long, cream, laminate tiles. Everything was covered in this tile: the floor, the walls, the staircases and banisters. On the subway platform, I chatted with the other girl who had shoulder-length brown hair; GrannySmith had gone elsewhere. We hopped aboard the train that arrived. She lived on the last stop, and I had to meet Cookie who went out with the rest of Pfeffernüsse's groomsmen for some pre-wedding fun. On the second last stop, GrannySmith jumped on our train; she left earlier to do something. She talked about shoe shopping, and I thought about it too.

We made it to the end of the line. There was Cookie, waiting for me at the platform; he was waving goodbye to the group. I left the train with the girl and GrannySmith to join him. I don't remember how we were notified, but we weren't allowed to get back on the train or leave the station. Death appeared before everyone. He was seven feet tall, and his body and face were covered in a blood-coloured cloak. In one hand, he carried a shiny scythe. I watched him allow select people on the train, and the train leave back the way it came. Cookie was allowed on, and I watched him go.

The train came back the next day. There was sky above us and we weren't underground anymore. It was cream, like the subway tile, and hazy. My brunette friend said she forgot something on the train, and Death let her enter. I heard her scream, "ouch!", and a couple of minutes later, came out with an orange plastic bag in hand. Death studied her for a moment, then pointed to the train telling her, "go." She handed her bag to me and hastily obeyed. The train left for the day.

The train came back again the next day, and GrannySmith and I watched people get on, though we weren't allowed ourselves. I questioned why these people were allowed to enter the train. If Death was among us, I assumed the train led back to our everyday lives; I wanted to be on the next train. I opened the orange bag. Aside from an empty, white box, there was a pamphlet with a drawing of a woman breastfeeding. Her nipple was erect and exposed. Did my friend get hurt breastfeeding, and is that why she was allowed to leave? It didn't make sense to me.

This day, the train wasn't in the station. Death had gone for a little walk. There were pine trees surrounding us. The sky was still cream. GrannySmith was still here, and by now, the extrovert in her had died. In an instant, Death leaped over trees, bounding as quickly as he could to the few on the platform. "It's time."

He stood close to me. I bowed my head and closed my eyes as he hummed a rhyme repeatedly. Everyone seemed to know they lyrics except I. I hugged him and he hugged me. His bony hands ruffled the hair at the back of my head, then gently sliced it off with his scythe. My anxiety began to run through me. He sliced another handful of hair. I felt my heart drop, as if the beginning of a heartbreak, and my chest heaved heavy as I started to sob. His hands pulled my remaining hair into a neat bow on the top of my head.

The last line of the rhyme I heard before waking up was, "we are going to die."

Three dreams:

1. Shortbread came with me to meet my mother. My mother threw a fit about something, but I can't remember what or why.

2. I worked for Canadian Tire, but the interior of the building looked dated and wooden. Each room was tiny, and decorated with odd objects and machinery. There weren't any windows. There was someone I was running and hiding from; they were authority.

3. I was in the locker room at work. I took a seat between RedPrince and a girl who worked in the produce preparation area. Seated beside the girl was Honeycrisp, and a boy who also worked in the produce preparation room. I placed my bowl of pre-cut melons (cantaloupe, watermelon and honeydew) on the table, and I heard the girl ask, "you're having fruit?"

"Yeah, that's my fruit," Honeycrisp playfully commented (he works in their department).

I hear the girl reply, "eww," in response, and turned to see the grimace on her face.

Monday, September 10, 2018

Honeycrisp waited for me after work, when I finished at 22:30. It was dark and raining. I had gathered my things from the locker room and was on my way up from the elevator, when I ran into my manager and one of the cashiers. They were asking if I wanted an Airmiles promotion because it was currently running. I declined and ran out of the store, into the mall, looking for Honeycrisp. I caught a glimpse of him before I lost him in a crowd of people. I rushed in, but couldn't find him. I gave up, and just before I took another step, he found me.

It was dark and rainy. He lead me through China Town. I asked if he'd tried pho before; he didn't respond. We stopped in front of a door of a store that looked abandoned for a long while. It use to be a place he enjoyed before it closed.

Soon, we arrived at a Japanese restaurant whose specialty was soup. There were a variety of vegetables and meat in containers, and broths, spread across a counter top. Confused, I watched him put together these items in a bowl, then add the soup base. There weren't anymore bowls, so I asked the owner for help. He walked me through making my own bowl of soup.

Thursday, June 28, 2018

I was at work, at a grocery store. One of my best mates at work, Honeycrisp, came to me and gave me a warm hug in greeting. I hugged him back and in the silence, I realized screamo was playing through my headphones. Embarrassed at my taste in music, I pulled away, saying I'd see him later.

I got to my station at the front, but found everyone at the registers were gone. I looked in another area and found everyone seated on the floor and listening intently to the person standing alone at the front. Everyone from the store were gathered and I didn't want to interrupt so I stayed in the back. I felt regret not following Honeycrisp earlier and I imagined he was near his department. When I found a spot to sit, a tall woman in a black, midi-length dress, and long, black wavy hair strutted in as if she had authority. Eyeing me, she walked past, stopping short of the end of the row before coming back. I looked up at her and she put her hands around my head. Her long, bony fingers were polished in black as they covered my ears.

"You'll do," she said. Her blood-red lips curved sinisterly upright.

I felt something pulled away from me, but I don't know what - it could be my soul, or an essence of something... I felt it pulled out like a slow breeze being pulled from my body, starting from my heart. It was warm at first, but it cooled, and I was left depleted and confused.

Friday, March 14, 2014

I went to a formal party with one of my supervisors at work. I was her guest, and she let me wander around. It was held in a restaurant inside a store. Each table had white linens and the centrepieces were tall vases with long stemmed lollipops of different flavours. She said I could take some, so I  took a bunch - at least one from each table. She called me over when dinner was about to start, and I took my seat beside her and a little girl. I was embarrassed by the amount I'd taken so I held onto them under the table. The child grabbed them from me and I tugged as she pulled. I let go eventually, until I had one left.
After the party, I went with Shortbread to an abandoned... something. It was in ruins and had a stack of lockers. We put our things in one and explored the ruins. Chunks of the roof was missing and the floor had become grass. When we were leaving, zombies came out, separating the lockers from the exit. There were about thirty zombies, and they knew how to run. A girl ran past us and made it to the entrance. She looked back and cheered us on. Once we got everything, we ran into the field, dodging grasps and disease infested bodies. I thought about whether I'd forgottwn a lollipop inside the locker. I almost made it out, but I was too slow. One female zombie dashed out and grabbed the hood of my sweatshirt.

Monday, October 14, 2013

I worked in a factory making something, and we were packaging them into boxes to ship out. My sister and my cousin were with me, and when it was time to leave, I said my goodbyes and left for the apartment where I lived with Cookie. The room was bright compared to the factory, and the walls were white and cozy. Seated on a chair in the dining room was a glum Sistor. I asked her why she was alone and why she wasn't happy, and she told me it was because of something to do with her boyfriend. We talked about it until Cookie came back with our friends from high school. Everyone settled in and Cookie and her boyfriend sat across from each other at another dining table. They were talking to each other and I couldn't help but smile too much that the two were getting along very well; I shot a glance to Sistor to see if she saw this and she did. Ly took a seat beside Cookie and their conversation turned into how Ly sounded when she talked in Vietnamese. She sounded like a child, and gave us a demonstration which confirmed it. Hugene aalso started speaking a few phases to compare her voice, fluency and grammar eith her. I thought she sounded adorable.

Saturday, March 30, 2013

Not sure where to start. I lived in the basement of my house and I was working on something at midnight. Shortbread was on my computer and she showed me a site to watch streaming movies. I had something to do in the kitchen, maybe make something, so I climbed the stairs to get there. The kitchen was different from my kitchen in real life. It was bigger, and the sink was built into the island counter. As I was washing dishes, my mom and dad came into the room. There were two knives I soaped up and I placed one on the counter, so I could rinse off the other. My dad stacked a plate on top of that knife so when I reached for it, I cut myself grabbing the blade bit, because I'd forgotten the blade part was facing me. My mom produced a tub of lychee and jackfruit in syrup from an overhead cupboard, and told me to submerge my cut in it so it'd heal faster. After bandaging it, I realized it was four in the morning, so I foolishly rushed to wash the rest of the dishes before heading downstairs to my room to get some sleep. I grabbed four rice cracker sticks (one of which I wanted to eat as a snack before bed) to pack in my purse for school, and headed down the stairs. Downstairs, Cookie's cousin, Apple, paced around on our laminate flooring, waiting for him. I offered him three cracker sticks, one for him and the other two for his siblings, but I realized I should give the fourth one too, and since I didn't open my snack yet, I gave it to him too. Cookie came and the two of them were off to go somewhere. When I finally entered my room, this is where the first dream cuts.

The second dream was in an animated world. I entered high school and saw a bunch of girls gathered in the corner of some display cases. There were several on the wall, some were in floor cases parallel to them. I ignored the girls and noticed a pretty boy who I knew. It was Wally West from Young Justice. I knew he was pretty, but I didn't realize he was that pretty. He seemed down, so I jumped on him, wrapping my legs around his stomach while his hands caught my butt so I wouldn't fall. I cupped his face with my hands, squishing his cheeks. I noticed he had red stubble all over his jaw and chin. "You grew facial hair," I said. "Suits you. Looks cute." He happily replied, "You think so?" In my head, although, for a long time, I thought his best friend, Dick Grayson, was cute, I thought I might just like Wally more. This dream ended when we kissed and my hand knocked over a stack of violet cards on top of one of the floor cases, advertising something, most likely an event.

The third dream had Cookie's university female friends participating in some kind of beauty pageant. Even though I traveled with them, I barely spoke with any of them; I was being ignored and not purposely. I followed them upstairs to the first room for a physical examination test, and once everyone was gone, I climbed down and forlornly waited on a table set by a potted tree. The place looked similar to the Living Arts Centre. A friend of ours approached me, and she wasn't participating in the events. She was a wise friend, and I think she was Bunny, my friend from university. Together, we went upstairs to check if the girls finished, but they were already gone. We climbed higher and found they've entered the next room, so we went back to the middle floor and sat inside a children's play house, one built for a sandbox. We talked about the girls,  and how I was feeling left out. Bunny asked if I wanted to see how they were doing in the competition, and when I agreed, we called a number on our cell phones and dialed someone's contestant number when prompted. I ended up with info for someone named Brianna when I was searching for Peach. Bunny dialed someone's number correctly, and I cant remember if they were doing well. This is where the third dream ends.

In the last dream, I was at work with the grandparents of the owner of the restaurant. Suddenly, a crowd appeared and it was Peach and the other contestants from the beauty pageant. Grams told me to go to the back and get something from Gramps, so I rushed into the back kitchen and Gramps made me wait for it... whatever it was. With urgency, I looked behind and at the crowd. Our goal is to serve everyone, and not lose any customers that walk out who were waiting. I learned Peach and the others learned I was worked here so they visited me.

Sunday, February 17, 2013

I was at work in the restaurant preparing to do my clean up routine when a customer came and sat down at one of our tables. He was kind and patient. He ordered a rice plate and I offered chicken rice, which he accepted. When I told the Grams in the back kitchen, she became angry because she was saving the rice for someone, but the Gramps whispered to me to agree with her, and he'd secretly cook some for our customer.

I had a nerve wracking time at my job in fast food, preparing pre-assembled salads, and this caught my boss' attention, Jessica Pearson (from Suits). She came in front if the salad bar's glass window, and leaned forward, demanding I show her how I assembled the salads. Feeling nervous under her authority, I was careful in the amount of ingredients I put into the salad- a decent amount of lettuce, four tomatoes, about a tablespoon of onions... She kept a careful watch on my face instead of the salad, as if looking for something to bust me for putting too much or to little ingredients into the salads.
